Title: I lost an Uncle
Post by: TestRocket on October 11, 2010, 04:38:03 PM
The family put to rest one of my favorite Uncles yesterday!

I want to say a little something here that I just couldn't say out loud during his funeral.

Uncle Mike was just 11 years older then me and with me only having sisters he was like a big brother. He took me deer, duck and dove hunting and fishing (and maybe taught me a few things I didn't tell my Mom about) from around the time I was 12 until I was about 17-18 where he had a wife and baby and I had other interest (girls). He took me in and gave me a bed until I could get back on me feet when I was 19 and gave me advice, guidance and help any time I needed it! I could go on and on...

I'll miss you Uncle Mike!

TR, I too have an Uncle Mike who is about 12 years older than myself. He is also my favourite uncle and we have done many things together. We have gone hunting and skiing and hung out at his camping spot at a local lake where he kept his trailer and boat in the summers. I don't get to go hunting much anymore but everyyear at xmas he has a big box of game meat for us with a bunch of other goodies too. He is a great guy and will always help you if you need it. We both get that from my grandpa. And I will sorely miss him when he goes too.
My condolensce to you and yours, may god keep his bullets straight for ever more.

Comfort sometimes comes from places least expected but this is one place I felt I could open up a little bit (even though I couldn't the other day) and I again thank the good people of this forum for the kindness!

Please close out this thread...I'm good! Thanks again!

Happy smoking everyone!
