Well I am looking to try and make some different kind of sticks this fall and I am wondering if anyone has a good recipe for maple snack sticks?
Right now I have a good plain recipe that uses jalapeno, red, white, and black pepper, but looking to make some different kinds of sticks
Any other must try recipes you guys might have lying around (and isn't a family secret)
I've never had maple sticks before, I'm sure if anyone has it would be NEPAS, but he is on the road to the FLA smokout then off to Cal and then the whole way back to PA. :)
I think I might try just adding maple flavor to some sticks in varying amounts to see what is the best amount.
I use this stuff ofr my bacon dry rub and has pretty good luck with it in Brats.

I usually get my maple flavoring from http://www.targil.com/individual_spices.htm
that targil site has a good price on hog casings too, $27 is cheap!
Hey Smokin Soon- Have you tried this maple powder in a stick recipe? If so how was it and how much did you use?
This is the maple I was going to try

I almost ordered some of that... Let me know what you think of it if you try it out.
As soon as I get a deer on the ground I will be trying to make some of them.....past few nights they just won't come within range....have a few vacations days coming up so I hope to get a good sized one.
I rehydrated the powder with distilled water. 2/3 cup powder, 1/3 cup water. Used about a cup in 5 lb of mix.
