Title: Hello From Seattle
Post by: NWsmoker on October 30, 2010, 10:44:30 AM
Greetings all

I have been Lurking for a bit, having just purchased a new Bradly Digital six rack its time to introduce my self. Having been a BBQ nut for years creating some outstanding food in my UDS, its time to move up to more precise control and COLD SMOKING! that is where the BD6 comes in. Sausage here i come! I do have one question off the top, the Bradley came with a dent in the side of the door and, the lower hinge was not correctly placed should i contact Bradley for a new door. It is a bit irritating to see a dent especially for the price point, but it should not affect the operation, what do you all think?

Welcome NW.
As you mentioned it probably will not affect operation but I am sure Bradley will make it right for you if you desire.  Their customer service is second to none.

Precise control is a bit subjective even on the digital.  If you do a lot of Sausage, you may eventually want to get a add on temp controller as others have done.  The add-ons typically have +- 1 to 2 degree swing.  Depending on how loaded the six rack is, you may see 10 to 20 degrees temp swing.  The Bradley is a simple on off type controller like the HVAC controller in most houses.

While you may want to add an "add-on" or "PID" the digital smoker will be way more controlled than your old UDS.  Good luck with the smoker and any questions just ask. Oh and welcome to the forum.

Hi NW and welcome to the forum.  An Auber PID would do the trick.  Program it and walk away.
