I always love it when I get my wife something... then I tell her I got you something...then she says What is it? ... I never tell just so it bugs her...it is a loving thing.
With this in mind I pick up parts tomarrow that if they work like I think they are going to will change the way most of us look at smokin' foods.
After testing is over with then you will be able to get it from Chez... I'm not going to make a dime on this. I doing this for the members here and to help Chez's move his offering away from the eBay croud.
No I'm not going to tell what it is. No it is not a temp controller... You will just have to book mark this posting to find out.
I will say if my idea works out this will be the next level of super-glue for us food smokers. Plus it will not cost you an arm or a leg to purchase it from Chez [^]
So wonder all you want... but suffer in silence... I'm not going to tell ya until the testing is done. [:D]

I don't know,... When you see it you might be able to get 230v parts there. I have not look into that voltage yet.
Sorry no hints... If I fail I would rather go quietly into the night than have egg on my face...however, I don't believe it will fail. I've given much thought to it, and spent much time looking for parts that are already manufactured in order to keep the cost down.
When the testing is overwith, I will make sure you have full detail information. We may find in the end that Chez can offer the item in the higher voltage. Either way you will end up with one.
I will say this...Chez is very excited about it.... [:p] It is something that no smoker unit has every offer before that I know of... Heh he he~~!
Not to mention I have a second project in the works that with this current one will convert your smoker in the the cat's Meow of units. [:D] Again it will be a Chez only item... I do know we can make them in the higher voltage at this time. [:0][:0][:0]
Again, I'm not going to make one dime on this. I'm doing this for my friends here and for Chez... In fact, once all of this is set up I will remove myself from the loop.

My bet is on a cabinet fan. Any other thoughts folks?

There is room on earth for all God's creatures....on my plate next to the mashed potatoes.
I'm thinking probe connectors integrated into the smoker with a built in display. Or a programmable thermostat.[^]
I don't have a clue what this could be, but if it is designed by you it's got to be unique and very functional. I can't wait.
Oldman,
If you need Electrical Engineering efforts on this, please let me know. Always wanting to enhance the smoking experience.

Onthis one no I don't. It is really simple. However, on the next one I may vary well call upon you. There are some items in the second one that I know will work, but they are not clear in my mind yet... perhaps this is why it is the second project...[:D] that and I have yet to order the parts for it.
I really thank you for the offer, and if I hit that wall I will give ya a big yell! (I have toll free calling nation wide [:p])

This will be very interesting.
Olds, you might want to think of us 220 V people and make the thing a bit easy to convert, if possible.

Ya think next time I check into a hotel & they ask "Smoking or Non?" they would mind?
Well folks,
It looks like Dennis is going to stop me from playing with the parts today and tomarrow at least.
I got to get the house ready for him. I see he is already a Cat 4 and has not yet crossed Cuba. Even if he stays on course it will wild and wet here.

Not that you will fail, but better to have tried and failed than to not try at all!!![:D][:D]
Seeing your last post has reminded we why I always come to Florida in October/November time. Been 3 times so far at that time of year and had perfect weather every time!
All the best to you and yours.[:)]
Manxman.
Olds, Batten down the hatches man! Then get back to finishing this project so you can tell us what it is.[:)]
Update...
First trial run was a success.... I made one small mistake that when Chez offers this kit, you will not have to face. This whole deal came together as I saw it in my mind's eye. I had to tweak one item--that took about 5 minutes.
Now that I know what is what I do believe you can install this in under 25 minutes. Plus I don't see how it can void your warranty as nothing in the Bradley system has been altered.
The last test before I worry with coming up with a cover is with the Bradley on for 24 hours @ 225 F. There is always the thermal issue to consider. If that does become a problem then there is Plan B; however, it would cost a little more. However, I'm going to make this work. [^]

Cold Smoke
Well the unit did what I want. I tested it for 11 hours yesterday in the heat range of 220F to a whopping 305F! Yes my Bradley will go that hot. However, I'm still very concerned about the thermal. I'm picking up another part tomarrow that I'm in high hopes will control the calories of heat. If it does then all I have left to do is create a cover.
After that the ball will be in Chez's corner. [^]

Is it an automatic water filler so you can keep the door closed?
I know I know...
Its one of those "for display purposes only - no one but Homer Simpson ever eats these" hotdog rotators. You spear your brisket onto it and it rotates the meat so you don't have to rotate trays.
