I just ordered my second 7lb bag of Hi Mountain bulk cure. That is enough for 390lbs of meat.
That means that with this 12lb batch We have made 390lbs of jerky.
Wow.
We are what we eat .... No!!!, but that is a heck of a lot of jerky!
Wow! That's a lot of meat. How long did that last?

That is a lot of meat. Now if you figured the price of what it costs in the store, say around $25.00 per pound and your cost. I think your savings would make a nice down payment on a bigger RV. ;D
Wow that is a lot of jerky what kind of meat do you make it out of. Or you the roadkill king of Florida. ;D
How many pounds do you do at a time?

I use eye round.
Typically 12-15lbs raw at a time, about that much every other week.
sometimes more, sometimes less.
I used to slice it on my deli slicer, but the nuggets are much less labor intensive in the seasoning dept.
holy cow FLBR

I did my first batch of nuggets last weekend, Ingles had stir fry meat on sale so i bought 3 lbs to try.
i cut it in half, tossed it in the reveo for 20 mins and into the 80L.

Roughly 1 inch by 1/2 inch.
I probably need to give that a shot. Seems much simpler to me!

I find I spend more time cutting, but a lot les time seasoning. I just dump in all in a meat tub and mix the meat by hand while the Mrs. puts in the cure and seasonings.
