Taste like squirrel :D
I love the backs of squirrels and wabbits. Never had them in a soup but it looks really good. Dad used to pressure cook the meat the brown it up in bacon fat, Mmmmm good. :)
I loves me some tree jeebil stew!
That pot looks great Nepas. I guess i will have to knock some down and maybe do some of that and some squirrel dumplings!
That looks so good, and brings back some very fond memories. Great stuff!
Haven't had a squirrel in probably 40 years. My Mom used to turn the squirrels I brought home into classic Brunswick Stew.
I raised a pet squirrel (from a bottle) and keep it maybe a year or a little longer when I was around 5-6 years old until one day my parents told me it got away (probably died). Anyway soon after that while I'm still in mourning we go over to a friend of my parent's house for dinner (chicken stew) and I even had seconds it was so good. Turns out I've had squirrel stew once in my life and I liked it!!! True story!
TR,
That is a really funny story!!
From the pics I would have no problem giving it a try, looks really good.
Growing up, I've watched my Dad take a cooked squirrel head
in his hand and crack it with a butter knife and remove the
cooked brains and mixed that with scrambled eggs.
No Brains for me, but I have eaten my share of squirrel dumplings.
Have never wanted to try a rat with a furry tail.....
what'cha using for broth there?
