Post by: NePaSmoKer on November 18, 2010, 10:05:38 AM
Got a good brine for the turkey....Bourbon Maple Sugar  ;D

8 Cups of cold water
1 T pickling spice
2 t cure
1 Cup Rebel Yell
2 Cups real maple syrup.

Heat this together and let cool

I use the big huge xl zip locks. You get 4 for $5 and cheaper than just buying 1 brine bag. My kitchen is really messy right now  :D

Pour in the cooled brine over turkey making sure cavity is filled. Add more cold water to completely cover bird.

Zip bag removing all air and place container in fridge for 2 days.

Rick,
I'm pretty sure you're safe.  Nothing can live in that much Rebel Yell! :D

KyNola is right -- ain't nothing gonna live in that mix.

I say get the SRG "out of the box" but I'm not sure if the sugar content is to high from the syrup or not. Now if the skin does not have sugar on it then it would be great!!

BUT....   You have to get it out of the box!   ;)
