Title: PID Setting question for Kummok's Salmon
Post by: Uncle Pigfat on November 26, 2010, 03:00:54 AM
Do you guys add time to the begginning of the program for the smoker to warm up?  It's pretty cold here today so I'm thinking of adding an hour to the beginning of the program, but I'm not sure if that's factored into the "default" program that comes with the auber. This is my first time making salmon and using the pid.  I probably should have played around with it prior to smoking expensive fish.

I cut my strips pretty thick (about an inch) so I'm going to have to set it for the longer cook anyhow.

I'd pre-heat it.

The salmon turned out great. My parents were very pleased. They bought a 3.6 lb side of wild Alaskan King. I'm in love with my pid. I will not smoke without it from now on.
