Hello Everyone
I just want to THANK all the wonderful people @ the Bradley forum, @ the Bradley team,@ sizzleonthegrill forum,& the Charbroil team. All of you have been a part of a great THANKSGIVING DAY for my family.
My eldest sister (62yrs) has pancreatic cancer for over a year now. Her doctors say she only has a few months left. We decided to have Thanksgiving @ her house this year. Her daughters were cooking 2 turkeys, a ham, & pies. I told my sister that I would smoke a turkey & bring a ham.
She said that was all right with her, but she didn't like smoked turkey.
I went & bought a 23lb turkey, a duck, & a 16lb Dearborn sausage ham. I smoked the turkey,& the duck to 165 IT. Latter @ her house I went outside in the rain to finish in the BESRG. All I have to say is it must have been good, because all I got was 1 small bite of each the turkey & the duck.
I did manage to get a ham sandwich.
Everyone raved about the turkey. They didn't even eat the other turkeys. My sister didn't know it, but her son had given her the smoked turkey, she was amazed how good it was.
I come on this site & the sizzleonthegrill site daily & read the new post.
I have come to enjoy this smoking meat stuff, I think the Bradley&SRG are a great marriage.
After seeing the look on my sisters face, It didn't bother me that all I got was a ham sandwich.
Hopefully the doctors will be wrong,& next year I will smoke 3 turkeys, so I can have some too.
I am glad you had great holiday and hope for many more for you and you family
Glad it worked out and will keep your sister in our prayers
Sounds like dinner came off well - at least you got something.

Nice work, sirpro!
I am with you - hope the Docs are wrong, as they often are when it comes to the strength of the human spirit.
We all get a little box of holidays to use until the box is empty.
