Title: CHRISTMAS GIFT IDEA
Post by: Jim O on November 27, 2010, 10:05:53 AM
Every year we can't figure out what to give close friends and relatives for Christmas.

This year,we've deceided to give all gift baskets.

These will contain things that all have commented on throughout the year, such as :

- smoked cheese (cheddar, mozza, halipino jack) - one vac sealed piece of each
- a fancy bottle of my wife's pickled garlic
- a vac sealed piece of smoked salmon or trout
- a bottle of our pickled beets
- a bottle of our favourite red wine
- a box of assorted crackers.

All wrapped in a fancy wicker basket.

We feel this is better than giving something that they either don't need or won't use.

Jim, we are doing the same thing.  I have been making summer sausage, snack sticks and fresh and smoked sausage for a while now.  I am about finished with all of the smoking.  Freezer is about to burst but I think after today I will have it all made.  You are correct in that this type of gift will get used.

You will have more people wanting your gifts next year.

That sounds like a GREAT gift.

What a fantastic gift idea -- from your labor, from your heart.  That will mean more than anything you could go to a store and buy.

Coming from a guy who has received food as a gift, I think everyone will love it!
