The left over turkey is for tomorrow.
No rocket science here. Put about 5 or 6 cloves of garlic, sliced, into about 3 TBS of OO with a pinch of salt to sweat it down. My sous chef peeled and deveined the shrimp.
Meanwhile, put a 50/50 mix of brown rice and Carolina short grain rice in the pressure cooker along with some butter, spices and, of course, water.
The shrimp got tossed in the oil and garlic prior to going under the broiler.

The shrimp got a quick flip and went back under the broiler for a minute or two.

Plated up. The rice was good, interesting texture with the mix.. A little green leaf salad on the side. The shrimp came out great.

As I said, turkey tomorrow!
Looks great to me!
Carolina short grain rice??
Heck yeah!!!
Is that GULF shrimp?
I've been eating GULF shrimp all along since this BP disaster, and I haven't had any that weren't SUPERB.
I know a lot of folks are afraid of it, but it's the best shrimp on EARTH...
Always was and always will be.
Captain Dan! Arnie's cookin'.... Let's catch some more of those!

Carolina short grain rice??
Yeah. I dumped what I had left of the brown rice and came up a little short. So, I grabbed the next bag to top it off - whoops short grain. I keep that around for sushi.
It was interesting because it had the 'sticky' of the short grain but still had the body of the brown rice.
Hal, for all I know the shrimp could have come off-planet. Just a bag of frozen shrimp.
Heck, with BP, you probably don't even have to cook the shrimp in 'extra' oil. ;D

That's what caught my attention.. Worth a try for sure! Same cook times?
I did the rice for 21 minutes in the pressure cooker. It might have gone for a minute less.
It looks great Arnie. I love scampi, one of my all time favorites.
Can't believe somebody said shrimp and I missed it.
Those look fantastic, Arnie!
The shrimp came out good. I feel they have to be done under a broiler, not fried. Also, I like them shell-on but my sous chef got to them first.
