OK one of my hunting buddies came back from the mid west with a package of "Bacon Loaf". It looked like a flat meat loaf that smelled like bacon and fried up close to bacon. It was made of elk and ??? and cooked so it was firm and then sliced about 1/8" thick. The loaf was about 2" high and 6" wide and looked like the makings of ground beef jerky. Has anyone even heard of this stuff? It tasted good but now I have the task of trying to make it. HELP!!!! The guys won't tell me where the heck it came from >:( Wish I had a picture of it but we ate the last piece.
I have had it, and have no clue what's in it other than Elk. Some buddies came back from a hunting trip to Wyoming with many coolers done by a packer who does an assortment of cuts and packages them.
I think what you are looking for can be found at Curleys sausage kitchen.com. Hope this helps
I just ordered some venison bacon cure from PSseasoning about 20 minutes ago. I have ordered Curley's every year for a long time, figured I would try something different this year and see how it compares.

Is this (http://forums.mathewsinc.com/archery-4/recipes-21/venison-bacon-83245/) what you're looking for ?
Here is another version (http://deejaysworld.net/deejayssmokepit/yabb/YaBB.pl?num=1200352031/5), mix your own (no kit).
And a Cabela's kit (http://www.cabelas.com/product/Home-Cabin/Food-Processing/Seasonings-Cures-Brine%7C/pc/104798880/c/104723280/sc/104557680/Cabelas-Venison-Bacon-Seasoning-Kit/715289.uts?destination=%2Fcatalog%2Fbrowse.cmd%3FN%3D1101298).
Ohh... I have to try this.
I think the second link I gave (the mix your own) is missing something kind of important -- like salt, or enough of it to have a good bacon taste anyway. Probably needs to add close to one Tbl salt. And I'm not sure about the garlic and onion for bacon, but it probably still taste good!
edit - mistype on the salt fixed
That's what I was looking for folks. Thanks for the leads. :)
I have made this many times and works great.

They also have a maple seasoning, just cook it really slow or it will burn.

I see they now have the directions on the pack, never use too.
