Title: A little bit of our Christmas in N. AL
Post by: TestRocket on December 26, 2010, 05:13:23 PM
Our family traditional Christmas dinner (passed to me from my father-in-law, RIP) is a standing rib roast cooked in the oven! Well this year it looked like we were having almost all of us here so I decided we needed to have extra meat so I smoked a turkey in the Bradley.

The turkey was brined for 24 hours, then air dried overnight (seasoned) and then smoked for 6 hours while the roast was seasoned overnight and then cooked in the oven until and IT of about 117 degs and then rested along with the bird until time to carve and slice.

We had a house full (26 of us) with lots of young ones doing everything (over the last few days) from learning to drive a stick shift to a four month old sitting up (special chair) for the first time and making a snowman! We are blessed and thankful!

I hope your Christmas was as fun!   ;D

TR you did a great job on dinner.   Family time you can't beat it and with the snow that hit glad to see all made it.

Looks like great food, and a great time with family!

The only thing missing is the AUDIO!
"What part of 'SAY CHEESE' and 'LOOK THIS WAY' am I not screaming loud enough over Bing Crosby?"

Great looking food, better looking family.

Everyone is smiling or giggling, in spite of the fact that they aren't looking towards the camera.  The young ones look like they are having way too much fun.

Great stuff, TR!
