Hi Jack & Coke

First make mine a double please

now onto the button

there should be some clear glue or silicone on the inside of the button
remove that glue then squeeze either the top and bottom of the switch or the left and right side
and push it out of the metal
You want to file the metal down on the same side as the two tabs
Just dont file to much all it needs is one or two strokes with the file.

You can see the the tabs you have to squezze in this picture

Jack and Coke,
why does that name sound so good . . . and I'm a good friend of Jim also.

I filed mine as noted above, and he's right, it only takes a file stroke or 2.  Go slow, and check it after every file stroke.  If you go too far, wrap electrical tape around the switch sides to help build it back up.  I've got proof it works :o

Good luck

Glad you got it worked out!

I was a Jack and 7 guy years ago and gave up the 7up because of the calories. I found over ice is better for your figure!  ;D

Good advice! I had the same problem with my new smoker, and this seemed to do the trick.
Smokin in Alberta.
