What is the difference between a #10 grinder and #12 grinder?
Are the plates interchangeable?

Thanks

Look at the brand manufacter that you are considering web page.

Probably not.

I have two grinders by the same manufactor and one is 1/2 hp and other is

3/4 hp and they are both what they call #12's. The plates do not interchange.

I'm looking at the hand crank models.

I'm not a pro at this but I had an Amish friend who had me pick him up a #12 hand grinder , It was rather big ,he then hooked it up to a pulley and motor . The throat was also big in diameter , and if I'm right a #10 is smaller in all areas . Not sure if I'm right but I think I'm pretty close .

The number has to do with the throat size
