Title: tube size for sheep casing

i ordered sheep casings for sausage but my smallest tube is 5/8ths is this gonna be ok

Well it depends on the casing size. I can get sheep casings in 19/21, 20/22, 22/24, 24/26. i use a 3/8 tube for the sheep casings i buy. I think 5/8 is going to be to big if they fit on they will grab or bind on the tube making them break.

Use a wipe of crisco on the tube.

i will try crisco.because i dont know where to get more tubes other than online i dont want to order another if its not needed.

Yep, I said the same thing.  Then I got bit by the snack stick bug and had to order the 3/8 tube to stuff sticks.  5lb stuffer seemed to be all that I would ever need.  Now I am wondering if a 15 pounder will be big enough.   ;D :o

yes i bout a 25 lbs stuffer but not for the sticks. I did tell the wife the 5 lbs stuffer is all i would ever need. Guess i was wrong

The sheep casings I have go (carefully) on a 5/8 tube.
