Title: Made a big ole pie
Post by: OU812 on February 01, 2011, 11:42:59 AM
A pizza pie that is.  ;D

Started off with some unfed sourdough that I pulled off my starter. Made a dough and let sit in the fridge over night to get more sour. Them pulled out and come to room temp and rise, rolled out and dropped in the DEEP dish pan.

Then after an hr rise it was about 1/4" thick, stabbed it a couple times so it dont get outta hand.

Dumped on 1/2 lb mozz.

Dropped in a pound of ground deer, shhhhhhhh dont tell mama.  ;D

Poured on about 2 cups of homemade pizza sauce.

Then added some onion, green pepper, shrooms and olives.

Topped with some spicy peperoni.

And finished with another half pound of cheese.

Put that monster in a 350 F oven till done.

Allow to rest in the pan for about 10 min then wrestle outta the pan.

Slice and serve.

My wife is an excellent wild game cook and ask me to make sure to get my special permits in. I only shoot the bucks for sausage. I am older now and found there are no recipes for horns. The does taste so much better.
