Came home from work yesterday to find out that my side by side in the basement quit working! >:(
Nice to come home to. All and all not that bad, some things were still frozen and saved. Cooked up a bunch
of stuff that had thawed, and only tossed a few things that probably been tossed anyway.
I had a one vac packed bag of sticks and one of jerky in the fridge side. I think?? it went out some time Sunday night
and we found out Monday night around 5ish. The stuff in the fridge was in no way cold anymore, so do you think my sticks and
jerky will still be safe to eat?? Also had one chub of SS in the freezer that had thawed, I would assume it is fine as it was frozen
so it was not nearly as warm when I found it.
Thanks for any advise,
sNc
with cured meat you are maybe ok
If they were vac-packed I think you are ok too.
nepas has sent sticks, etc to his son in the service
and had no problems.
With cure and vac packed, your good to eat.
If your not sure, send it down the road and I will let you know if they were any good :D
Sorry to hear about the passing of your freezer
The one good thing about the passing of your freezer is that you get to buy a bigger, better, shinier one this time!
Hang around with sonny and he will have ya buying a fridge with a fwd/rev gear :D

I think Sonny converted his robo vacum cleaner to an remote control ice bucket/beer delivery vehicle. He just pushes a button and a door on the side of his fridge opens up and out comes his refreshment delivered right to his lazyboy. :D ;)
