Title: Today Lasagna, tomorrow ribs
Post by: GusRobin on February 05, 2011, 04:58:38 PM
Tomorrow I plan on making short ribs, corn on the cob and asparagus in the Bradley. Today I decided to go Italian, made some lasagna.

Started slicing open some homemade Italian sausage, fried that with some chopped onions, minced garlic, mushrooms. Threw in some Italian seasoning and some gunpowder seasoning.

Then added tomato paste and fire roasted diced tomatoes.

I then strained it and set the meat mixture aside and save the little bit of sauce that drained out.
I then mix an egg, ricotta cheese, and parmesan cheese.

Took a glass pan and put down a layer of cooked lasagna noodles. Added a layers of the meat mixture, the ricotta parmesan mix, tomato sauce, some of the sauce that drained from the meat mix, and a layer of mozzarella. Repeat another layer of noodles, meat, cheese mixture sauce.

Added a total of 3 layers. Topped the last layer with a layer of noodles, mozzarella and parmesan.

Into the fridge until dinner time.

Out of the fridge and into the oven for 30-35 minutes. Finished.

Thats some good looking lasagna...  My mom makes my favorite lasagna for my birthday every year.  I have only made it once and never order at a restaurant...  I would feel like I am cheating my mom...
