Title: OBS has a home
Post by: drano on February 06, 2011, 08:42:53 PM
I've got my OBS set up in a plastic storage unit.
Shoveled it out yesterday and fired it up today.
Works well to keep the wind off of it.  I drop the lid down just enough to let the smoke out.
When the snow melts (that can't be soon enough!), I'll look into putting a chimney on top.  I did a few chicken thighs and even though the lid was propped open about 2", it still held the water vapor in.
Here's a few pics

And some chicken thighs.  There were 3 more, but they were for supper ;D.

Not bad. Would be nice if those came with some legs to raise it up a bit.

Hey, you got a box and some of that white stuff too! Nice box but you can have the white stuff. But I will take a piece of chicken!   ;D

TestRocket,
Sorry, but no white stuff, no chicken!
I guess you won't be over for dinner tonight--we're on our way to -17F and some wind chill added to that.
I've been ready for spring since early Nov. :'(

Their calling for a little more snow tomorrow night and we have had 13 inches so far this winter. Most years if we see any it's just a dusting. If it snows do I get a piece then?  :D
