My first try at Moinks.
Crisped them up on the BBQ after smoking (1hr hickory) and hit them
with some honey garlic sauce...
Wife really liked them. She ate most of them! >:(

Your Wife is a smart Lady ............
I would have ate most of them also.
A+++ on the moink balls. NICE!
Those look great. The honey garlic sauce home made or store bought?
Homemade with lot of garlic... Mmmmmm
Roasted Garlic is SWEET!
What is in the center?
meat balls and they are so good ;D
Looks really good wyoduke. The honey garlic sauce sounds like a nice touch. I could go for some right now.
I would have asked earlier but I had to find a sponge to wipe the slobber off the keyboard before I could type!
These 'moinks' look killer. Are they scratch meatballs or are they ready-mades? If scratch, would you be willing to share that recipe? Also would you be willing to share the honey garlic sauce recipe? This is something that my child bride and I would undoubtedly love to try.
I have some bacon curing as we speak (type?) and it is begging for a chance to be become part of this dish. ;D
Moinkballs are like a blank slate - just begging for different flavors.
For ease - use premade meatballs, usually precooked. (find in the frozen section of your supermarket). I like to use a thinner cut of bacon, as that cooks faster.
Of course you can make your own meatballs, but most I find in the frozen section of the market seem to work fine.

Make a double rack full next time! ;)
They look great! Haven't had any for a while. Have two bags of frozen meatballs just waiting for me to be able to get at the smoker.
Do you need to soak the tooth picks?

Nope.. They might get a little char on them, but they won't spontaneously combust or anything like that.
Thanks everyone.
No big secret for my recipe. It was honey and lots of garlic.
I like to simmer it and let it cool then slather it on.
I didn't soak the toothpicks. At the rate my wife was gobbling
these down I'm sure she ate a toothpick or two. lol
Those looke excellent,nice job. :P
