Title: She's dead Jim!
Post by: Fernslinger on February 28, 2011, 04:06:31 PM
Well, element #2 went out last night while making a batch of jerky...Going through an element every month is not what I had in mind when buying this smoker. I am starting to regret not buying the Traeger instead :(

Mine has worked fine for several years now. I bought a Traeger and it quit on me 1/2 way through a State Championship bbq cookoff only one week old. I'm sure it was out of the norm but it sure pissed me off. I had to stuff everything into a Stumps cooker going at 250 to even finish the cooks and still ended up walking 4 times. Once in each category. Let the Bradley guys handle it for you. Traeger handled mine. I sent it back and vowed to never use something powered by electricity again in a comp.

I use my little Bradley for low temp cooks and just love it.

Sorry to hear this Fern. I guess it doesn't help to say I have had mine since August 09 and never had a problem yet. But let Bradley know and they will fix you up.

They do send me a new element but going on my 3rd in 3 months is crazy...they need to figure out why the elements are failing.

Yeah, I read all the threads and it looks like they are trying to solve this issue...just frustrated is all. At least I should have a new element before the weekend :)

lol, love star trek.

I just lost my 3rd heater since August.  Bradley has replaced all with no questions.
I did however buy a spare so like today,  I lost 20 min changing it.  And it was still frickin hot.
Hope bradley doesn't want this one back to get replacement as it now has a set of my burnt on finger
prints.
