Title: diners drive in and dives
Post by: bears fan on March 07, 2011, 07:07:10 PM
Watching the food channel and the show is the best thing they ever ate and the food is bacon.  This place, didn't catch where it was at, but they boil bacon for a couple of hours, drain it and then throw it on a griddle and it turns into a bacon patty and then they put it on top of a burger.  Looked delicious and I think something that would be fun to try.

I love that show...  But, if it ain't pasta, I'm somewhat skeptical about the boil method.   ;D

What if it was boiled in crab boil? Might add the flavour back in that would be lost from boiling.

It sure does sound strange, but the results looked fantastic when they slapped it on the griddle and fried it up into a bacon patty!  I think I will have to try it sometime.

Try grilling fresh belly (I don't boil) or smoking, that is good. There is a recipe on the recipe site that I can't get to this morning, but you can google. There are a ton of recipes out there.

I finally got in:
