Title: Paducah BBQ Festival and Competition
Post by: KyNola on March 15, 2011, 01:56:53 PM
I know this is awfully early but wanted to get the dates out in plenty of time so people who might be interested can start making plans early.  The dates are 9/22-9/24.  Jan and I are staying across the street from the event.  I think maybe a couple of folks from up around Springfield IL may be coming down.  Who knows, it is mildly possible that 3 of us from the forum may be helping out one of the "circuit" competition teams this year.  Seems they have a little trouble doing chickens.  More on that later as the time draws nearer.

48 teams, 3 days of BBQ, beer and everything else you can imagine and 50,000 people.  All of the net proceeds go to different charities.

For our main FEATURE!
Sing it, Ka Honu!

Pa Pa Paducah!!!

If you could see a certain town down south
I'll bet you fifteen cents you'd holler "Shut my mouth!"
I'm not exaggeratin' when I say
There's not a sweeter town in the U.S.A.
I know an awful lot of people claim
It has a funny name. But brother just the same
They can't frown on my home town
Paducah, Paducah
If you wanna you can rhyme it with bazooka
But you can't pooh-pooh Paducah
That's another name for Paradise.
Paducah, Paducah
Just a pretty little city in Kentucky
But to me it rhymes with lucky
When I look into two blue eyes.
Tulip time, they get excited over tulip time But I'm delighted over
julep time Because I happen to love A resident of...
Paducah, Paducah
If you wanna you can rhyme it with bazooka
But you can't pooh-pooh Paducah
That's another name for Paradise.

It's bigger than my house.

Plenty of room for 4 of us to stumble around in.   Full kitchen, dining room, private street entrance, washer/dryer, couch for Hal to sleep on...   :D

If the wife and I weren't going to Chicago to see the Cubbies play the week before I'd try and talk her to going. I wonder if I still have some relatives living there?
