Title: smoked Prime Rib
Post by: neocostical on March 24, 2011, 07:07:48 PM
I'm looking for a good seasoning to put on a Prime Rib that I am going to smoke on Saturday.  I see a few people have used onion soup mix but I am looking for something a little different.  Any Ideas???????

Are you looking at purchasing or making your own?

Marinate it in red wine with your favorite rub for 12 hours. Then sparingly re-rub and smoke away.

I would prefer homemade but store bought would work too.

I modified a rub that Pachanga uses.

¼ cup salt – best to use sea salt or kosher salt
½ cup pepper
1.5 Tbsp corn starch
1.5 Tbsp granulated garlic
2 Tbsp oregano
1 tsp Thyme
1/2 tsp ground bay leaves
1/2 tsp Paprika
1/2 tsp Tarragon
1/2 tsp Rosemary
1/2 tsp Celery seed
1/2 tsp Onion Powder
1/2 tsp Ground White Pepper
½ tsp sage
1/4 tsp cayenne
