Title: I need some opinions

I am considering buying  a smoker just like this one  i went and looked at it and it needs some cleaning but looks like it is in real good shape the seller is asking 450 dollars as is 
does any one know anything about these kind of smokers
what generates the smoke
and what do you think i should offer

My guess would be this tray hold the wood chips to generate the smoke...

I see what you mean the one that i am looking at is in alot better shape also

The bottom is the wood water pan, wood is soaked in the water, heat makes the water evap and starts to smoke the wood. $450 sounds fair but start low. Money talks BS walks  ;D

Check the door, is it square, heat unit, is it rusted, piping for gas and water escape, if electric, 110 or 220. Some are vented some are not.

I don't know if he has the NG hook up to test it the the door seals good and the overall condition is really good much better than the photos shown the burners look to be good shape no rust on them i am gonna call on Monday with an offer and see where it goes from there it is vented if all else fails then i will start with a smoke generator and a fan and go from there thanks
