Title: MidWest Smokeout II
Post by: Tenpoint5 on April 08, 2011, 07:32:02 AM
I knew this would happen sooner or later. We was in the Chat room last night and it just so happened that just about everyone was from the middle of the country. As the topic of smokeouts was discussed. Why don't we have one? About 10 minutes later, Saturday August 20th My back yard was the date and place. So we can hash out any details and go from there right here in this thread.  BTW I still haven't told the Corporate office about this. I think I will just write it on the Calender and let it ride till she finds it. ;D ;D

OU812 said he is going to just pop up a tent in the backyard to sleep in!! There is a Comfort Inn about 15 miles from the house in Dyersville. Nepas stayed there when he stopped by on his USA Tour. BTW that is where the Basillica and the Field of Dreams is also located.

Squirt if you guys want to make a run up to the Locker Plant. I am sure we can make arrangements. Just order the bellies a week ahead of time they butcher on Tuesdays and have them cut, wrap and freeze for a Sat morning pickup. You want the Locker plant bellies not the slaughter house bellies they order in. That's the ones you and Hal got the last time.

Real quick before I go take a nap after working all weekend.

The Number to the Dyersville Comfort Inn is 563-875-7700. I called them this morning on my way home from work. The room rate for that weekend is $104.49 + Tax. As of right now they have 28 rooms available. You can call and reserve a room on your card. If you tell them you are with the Bradley Smokers Midwest Smokeout they will do there best to group everyone together. They don't actually assign rooms until you are physically present and checking in. This way you can all be in the same area.

I snagged a room.   Not sure what August will bring us, we'll play it by ear.

If you have a AAA/CAA card, that will knock 10 bucks off of the rack rate.   Advance purchase (non-refundable, Choice Hotel membership required) is $93/night.

It is about a 5 minute drive from the house. That is where we had the first smokeout 2yrs ago. I think Seemore is going to be parking his Camper over there as well

What's the word on the smoke out?
Haven't seen anything for a while, with the potential flooding here in Council Bluffs I might need some place to dry out.
