Title: My Wife....
Post by: Oldman on September 23, 2005, 01:02:02 AM
I just came home to feed the dogs and I'm going back after I write this out.  Susan a few hours ago went to the hospital while I was out. I did not know. She is as hard headed as they come and did not want to worry me. They "think" they know what is wrong... they think... chit

I have 2 dead wives in my life. 2 dead children in my life. 2 dead sisters in my life. All I have left is my wife and mother.

What no one knows here is Susan is close to her 5th year of being cancer free. A cancer that I had  3 doctors almost 5 years ago tell me to get her affairs in order. She beat those odds. Maybe I'm just a little nuts-o, maybe a little gun-shy but God I wish I could grab something and just shake the chit out of it. Tell it to leave her alone.

Please keep us in your thoughts the next couple of days....

Back home at last.  Not everything fixed yet, but making headway. There is concern about a "small growth" given Susan's history. More on that next week.

Now where did I leave my Brandy...

We'll keep you guys in our prayers Olds...

I lost my father to cancer years ago. It's a tough battle, but we're here for you if you need to vent.

ListerD sorry about your Dad.

Tom my best to you and yours. If you wife has to take interferon tell her I then send my love. For all of the good they say it will do that stuff damn near killed Susan.  The days seem never ending when she was on that. Everyday was pickin' her up and given her a bath. Weeks that she has no memory of. We were told later that during the interferon trails it did in fact kill two people.  Man I hope if your wife has to take that stuff she is one of the folks that can deal with it. Some do we were told.

Today due to the meds she is on all she had done is eat and then go back to sleep. [:)] Heh he he I will have nothing on the stove and she says: Honey whatcha cookin'. [:D]

Thanks everyone for your good words.

I know that Tom and I sure thank you all for the words.

We now know there is a growth for sure in her gall blatter. It is not a stone. Given her history of cancer this is of much concern now. Thurs she goes for more testing.

Maybe some know this or some don't. I'm too tired to look to see if I posted this before.

I have 2 dead wifes. I have 2 dead children. I have two dead younger sisters. All I have left is Mother and Susan. This past week I started gaming again each night (up to this event I was gaming 2 nights per week)  to take my mind off of stuff... it only half arse works.

There are times when I look back and I can only figure I must have been the worse dickhead in another lifetime....I never thought I would be this old or tired...

Thank you for your words. They really help. It is good to have real friends.

<font face="Comic Sans MS"><font size="2"><font color="maroon">Hey Old Sport!

I was wondering why I could not stir you up and now I know.  I sent you an Email but you did not respond and I figured something was wrong.

You and I finally learned to speak from our hearts and we both are fairly blunt with our conservations sometime but this comes from a place you ain't ever seen.  I love you brother and Susan as well.  I think you have accepted Jesus as your saviour and now you just need to place these problems in his hands and trust that God will do what is best which is God's will.

I just wish I had known sooner so I could be offering up my prayers for you both.  I am known as a prayer warrior among my friends.  I promise if you just believe and trust in the Lord and turn this totally over to him Susan will be better in no time.  I will be going from here, my desk, and straight to my praying bench and I will not cease until I hear from you!

Please keep us posted!</font id="maroon"></font id="size2"></font id="Comic Sans MS">

This is my first 'trip to the forum' in about a  week so was shocked and saddened at the dreadful news.
My best wishes for a speedy and full recovery for your wonderful wife.

Olds,
You are in my prayers also. No man should be an island. We need each other. I enjoy reading your posts and I have learned much from you. Sauce Bauce's advice is good. I am going through something in my life and am beginning to put it in God's hand and leave it there. The burden is off.

Some of the earliest people to smoke meat were jews making offerings/sacrafices to God.

Perhaps we should all be praying next to our working smokers???

Wishing you and yours the best; Gods will... and keep the Faith Olds!
