Title: Must have rubs...
Post by: begolf25 on May 13, 2011, 07:21:36 AM
I was wondering what everyones "must have" rubs are. If you could only have 1 or 2 rubs for grilling and smoking which would they be?

As of today mine would be Plowboys Yardbird and John Henry's Pecan.

I take it your talking about commercially made rubs.

Bad Byrons Butt Rub (the Jubilee Seafood Seasoning is good too)

Bone Suckin Rubs are all good.

I might toss Soileau's out there...  But it is more of a 'use with a light hand' seasoning - vs a rub.

I know of a guy on another pellet forum that used 100% Soileau's as a heavy rib rub.
He consumed 3 Fat Tire beers and a glass of milk before he finished the rack.   :o

Man there's so many..

I really like the John Henrys Texas brisket rub I got in last years Xmas exchange. Ill be buying more of that soon! I've used it on butts too with excellent results. For commercial rubs that's my favorite.
Home made would be Jan's rub.

The Soileaus's is a mighty fine seasoning, [Thank's Pat!] I really enjoy it on eggs, veggies and more. A light sprinkle will enhance whatever your fav is. I mixed up some Head Country, GP and Soileau's for some wings and it was killer!!!
