Hal calls me last night... I need a truck tomorrow.
Ok..
Going to pick up a 15'x15' tent at Armbrusters. It's used, and a heck of a deal.
Ok..
So I roll there after work.. Thinking, Ok - this should fit easily, and the poles are probably collapsible.
The loading bay door rolls open (should have been my first clue) and 2 guys and I stand there and look:
1. at my Ranger.
2. at the FIFTEEN FOOT poles they have laying there.
They turn to each other and say - well, this will be interesting.

Good thing I picked up 6 cases of water today, and the canopy itself weighed a good 50-60 pounds. It all went on the ends stuck down under my cargo bar. Couple straps to tie it all together, and we rolled off into Rush Hour traffic.. (fortunately, most of it was going the other way)
So our first day at the Circus, and we get assigned to the Insane Clown Posse.
Ohhh.. This ain't the first time I ran away with the circus... ;D

Been staring at all the pieces/parts... oh my...

This thread brings the beginning of a song to mind by Three Dog Night (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xtAlzo_pqys)
Wouldn't it be easier for him to just finish the kitchen instead of starting over in a tent?
If Hal calls and wants you to pick up a tiger, top hat and tail coat its time to change the number ;D Cool tent though!!!

I plead ADHD.
Heck, I suffered from it before it was even INVENTED.

Maybe Hal is setting his new kitchin in the tent. ::)
HR
The subdivision's homeowner's association is gonna LOVE this! :D
Hal, Squirt - you got it backwards. You are supposed to run away and join the circus, not bring the circus home with you.
Gus, I'll let Hal field that one..
Pretty sure he used to Bark for the Yak Woman.
And I've seen him deal Three Card Monte. I doubt that he learned that in Engineering school..
Heck it's a circus around my house most of the time...I guess now I need a tent? ;D
What you guys tenting anyway? A whole Bison? :D
I hope them parts are numbered ::)
This is just what I would expect from a couple of clowns anyway. :D :D :D
I know one thing....no circus will have the great smoked food your guys make.
Smoked circus peanuts.....mmmmmm.
No I don't, but I can well imagine. My dad and his best pal from school were a real pair when they were together.

It's for sun/rain relief (
when smoking pig parts/partying) in the back yard...
I've been through several cheapie canopies (that weren't really all
that cheap).
Probably spent about $500 in the last 3 years --- and got NOTHING to show for it.
(they're all twisted crap in the dump now)
Barring a direct tornado hit, this one should last many years.
It's really well made - by folks that have been making tents for 136 years.

(they must be doing something right!)
This model is a WHOPPING $2,200
new...
SLIGHTLY USED for $800?
Sold.
Funny thing is (this blew my mind!) --- I told the guy
what I was gonna do under it he said, "OOHHHH NO... You'll get it all black, sticky, and messed up"...
I said, "I'm not gonna run a
stick burner under it -- just a Stump's..."
And he
knew what that was! "Ohh.. You'll be fine!"
Then I told him I might run a Bradley and some pellet poopers too...
"No problem!" (He knew what ALL that was!)
I've got a feeling he's sold some tents to
competiton folks. ;D
How Ya gonna anchor that bad boy down? I have gone through a few 10 x 20's in the past 5 years, and none of the ground ones have worked. Kind of a kick when your neighbor knocks on your door and says " Your cook tent is over here". I have to suspend some concrete blocks to keep it here. Not pretty, but functional.

I had one of those 10x20 "car cover" tents and "staked" it with 6 concrete blocks.
A storm took it,
blocks and all, twisted it like a pretzel and tossed it in a tree.
This tent came with
monster stakes and ropes...
Gonna use a trucker's hitch on each corner.
It's rated for 90mph winds.
