Title: Basic summer treat
Post by: Drac on May 24, 2011, 02:23:23 PM
Hi all,

I love playing with recipes, tweaking to see if I can get it just a little bit better.  Experimenting to get a modern taste or a combination that hasn't been tried.

There are somethings that just don't get better.  Basic ingredients that don't need any tinkering.  One of these is the Southern favorite banana pudding.

Just -
Bananas
Vanilla pudding
Nilla wafers

We are having a desert party tomorrow and I was told today that wee need to bring something in.  Since Amy doesn't like bananas I rarely have it at home since I can't eat it all myself (or shouldn't) and it doesn't keep.  I occasionally have it at restaurants but they don't let it set long enough for everything to "meld" as they say on Food Network.

Here is the finished product -

Let it set overnight and it doesn't get much better.

You guys have similar dishes?

Jim
