I thought you guys might enjoy this for the 4th.
I thought they were kind of cute.

Here's a new twist on how to serve burgers at your next BBQ
(Embedded image moved to file: pic13977.jpg)
Handmade ground beef patties, topped with sharp cheddar cheese, wrapped in
a bacon weave, (use the cheese to keep the bacon shell on) Next step, add
hotdogs pieces as the heads and legs with slits for toes and shape a tail.
If ya really wanna get artistic you can carve a hotdog head with eyes and
a mouth slit!
Next Step: Place gently on your grill and cover with an aluminum foil dome
and only turn once or if it's a rainin' you can place yer turtles on an
oven rack, covered loosely with foil dome and baked for 20-30 minutes at
400 degrees.
A little crispy, not too crunchy!
Just how a turtle should be, right?
Slap them Turtles in a hamburger bun and serve!
(See if your guests eat 'em head or tail first)
Watch out for Ka Honu ;D ;D They do look tasty though.
1. This is not a "new twist." It was posted (in equally poor taste) about a year ago.
2. Except for the bacon wrap, it's a disgusting piece of work.
3. Anyone who'd make or eat one of these deserves to choke on an appendage.
Those look great :)
Ka Honu is just going to have to deal ;)

Yep!!! they do look good, them and some good homemade turtle soup...what a meal that would make...
Sure look fun and good!!

i could manage the beef cheese and bacon, never the hotdogs.

Take your self a good hotdog wrap a piece of cheese around it then hanburger around that then a slice of bacon arount all of that and cook indirect heat on the grill,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, NOW THATS GOOD.

Try using Little Smokies or something similar (and pretend that you're not doing a really vile thing int he first place).
This one is slightly less offensive...
MEAT TANK.

T'anks, squirt.

My daughter thinks your turtle burgers are the best. She is going to make them for our July 1st get together for the kids. ;)
Um, I think we are taking this thread a little too seriously..
I didn't mean anything with the 'meat tank'. Just another picture of an inanimate item made of meat and bacon.
(pretty sure I posted that picture when the 'turtle burger' topic came up about a year or so ago)
Sorry to touch a nerve. Wasn't my intention.
Kirby,
I think you missed the point. Ka Honu means "sea turtle". It has been a running joke for quite a while that anytime anyone mentions doing anything that includes the word "turtle" in it, that Ka Honu is going to take offense.
It's a joke. Lighten up.
I like turtles :) Cool post KC
