Title: Quack n Track
Post by: muebe on July 02, 2011, 01:27:28 PM
I was watching the show "Modern Marvels" about the Horse. The show then started talking about a restaurant in Canada called La Palette. They have a entree on the menu called Quack n Track...a 4 oz Horse tenderloin and leg of Duck. The tenderloin looked really good but I really do not know if I could bring myself to eat Mr.Ed ???

When I was in France, they didn't have a problem eating horse meat, but I sure do...I guess if we were raised eating horse meat there we be no problem... >:(

Horse meat is great! Use to be a local steak houe got caught selling it a few times before being closed. Its legal but not when sold for beef. Its a nice red color and I think it tastes better than beef.

My parents raised me on horse meat, I remember going to the butcher and getting it. I don't remember any taste difference between beef.  There was a point in the 70's that we could not get horse meat any longer. I would not want to eat horse meat again ;D this was the same Era when people rubbed DMSO all over theirselves ;)

Oh yeah horse is good, used to eat it allot but hard to find now.

DMSO

Dimethyl Sulfoxide was widely used by train hobbyists to clean the tracks. They found that their arthritis was going away. But alas Big brother got wind of it and wanted their share so they banned the sell of it in pure form cleaning agent.

Unless you know where to look  ;D

My father in law is from France and he claims that horse is fantastic.  One of his favourite meats.   I've never tried it myself but I'll try anything once.  Why the long face?

(http://serve.mysmiley.net/characters/character0109.gif) I guess I follow the rule of "Don't eat what people ride"...or something like that.

Steak/Frites - AAAA black angus striploin (Alberta) w/ horseradish-blue cheese butter & chocolate-port reducion served w/ Yukon fires & house tarragon mayo

Well with realitives from KY and Pa Guess I'm just hill folk(hillbilly) Ill eat what walks, flys, swims or crawls. With exception of or own kind. I have ate just about everything growing up and still love my wild meats even the wierd ones. A little smoke and sause and it all tastes good. LOL

May have to try that DMSO! See you can order 99% pure on the internet. Do you just rub that on for arthritis?
