Title: Temp too high, HELP
Post by: BC Smokin on July 04, 2011, 05:48:24 AM
I just got my DBS going and the oven temp is max at 280, how do I get this down? I am smoking a brisket about 12 pounds worth. I have pushed the oven temp several times, but it still does not go down. Help!
I must be doing something wrong.

It would be really hard for a right out of the box smoker to get to 280*. I'm guessing there is something wrong with the reading. Try putting in a external Bbq Temperature Gauge and see if you get the same reading.

Check to make sure you have the plugs in the correct positions. The smoke generator should be plugged into the tower and the wall outlet should go to the smoke generator.

thanks, but i got it going right. When the temp sign was flashing, then I pressed the down button and the temp sign went down. User error.
