Title: Hello from Brampton ON...
Post by: JeffPorter on August 11, 2011, 05:42:32 PM
Hi Everyone,

My name's Jeff...Recently married and my (new) wife got me a 4 rack OBS as a wedding gift...I'm completely green at this...

I've wanted one for quite some time. I seasoned it today, have it temporarily covered with a BBQ cover (my Bradley cover is coming soon hopefully). Tomorrow I'm just going to keep it simple with chicken for my first smoke.

I will have a TON of questions...particularly how to get the temp low enough for cold smoke.

Also a beer nerd, and am a member of Bar Towel if anyone else is...

Cheers...

Also, I gotta say, I'm a little surprised by the amount of verification steps you need to do...

welcome to the forum

to cold smoke
1)  keep the top vent wide open and only use the smoke generator
2) buy a bradley cold smoking adapter.
3) enjoy smoking good  food

4) take your  time i did 24 lbs of pork that took 22 1/2 hours to cook

Welcome to the forum. You must have a very loving wife or a very hungry one.  ;D ;D Now you be careful, covering a Bradley with a BBQ cover could give it a complex. It might start to think it has to grill stuff to make you happy. As for that chicken make sure you keep the vent wide open for poultry. I have to ask what this bar towel membership is? Is this something we should know about? Is it like a beer of the month club cause that sounds like fun. ;D ;D ;D
