Title: Rib tips help needed!
Post by: KyNola on September 03, 2011, 12:48:02 PM
I have 4 packages of rib tips that total a little over 6 lbs.  I have never done rib tips before so how long should I plan for these to go?  Going to smoke them at around 250 or so.  Any ideas for me?

STC, when I told Jan what I was going to smoke tomorrow providing the weather holds out she said "Could we put the meat in jambalaya"?  Apparently she saw what was delivered to the door today. ;)

Oh yeah, shred those babies...      Pulled pork tacos are good too.

I cook them just like the ribs they were cut off of.

Maybe 4 hours at 250°?

When I did the tips I just put them in there for the same amount of time as the ribs.

Just pretend they are ribs and you should be good to go!

I think I might be doing some tips as well, The wife purchased a kryovac of pork spare ribs and when I pulled them out there was two of them stacked up. One was edge or tips and the other was regular ribs that I had to pull the silver skin off of on the bone side but not the other. First time ribs at this store.....
