Just rolled in from Texas so I've been away for 4 days. Sorry. According to the local news I was watching at the ranch, I was expecting my house to be laying on it's side and I would need a boat to get to it when I got back???? Turns out I have three small limbs down in my yard and my pool has almost 35 leaves in it. ???
I went to try out my new Dennis Quackenbush 308 big bore airgun on a pig. It works!! 28 yards shot at just after dark with a red LED spot light mounted to the scope.

It was hiding in the woods waiting for us to leave the area after spreading out corn.

To make a long story short we hadn't even planned on hunting that night, we were just spreading corn for the next night. They surrounded us and we hid behind the Polaris waiting on one to get brave enough to come out. When it got dark I took this pose

The the pig took 128 grains of lead between the eyes

It's a good thing too, didn't see another pig the next three days. I think they are still running!
Now THAT my friends is an airgun! Nice shooting Ron.
Very nice. And that is quite the shot also. I smell BACON. ;D
Nice shot. What is the muzzle velocity on that air gun. I don't remember ever seeing a 308 bore air gun.
Kirby
Yeah Buddy Way to go!! Looks like some home cured Hams and Bacon in your future!!
great shot .... i see baby back ribs, bacon, pulled pork, pork loin, boston butt,
Nice hog...nice rifle...them is some high scope mounts...
The gun shoots 128.5 grain slugs at 820fps for a calculated roughly 200foot lbs of energy. It will carry 165 FPE out to 100yrds but realistically it's limit is 75yrds. I fill it from my scuba tank to 3000psi and get 4 shots at full power.
Here is a link to Dennis Quackenbush site. You have to really want one to get one. The list goes up one time a year and fills up in 5 minutes for the 50 he makes that year. I got this one used and paid a premium for it to get it.

They are high mounts. I couldn't find my medium ones and the low mounts make the 6.5x20 Leopold scope rub the barrel.
Dang Ron...Nice hog and nice rifle.
Nice shot Ron
Now only a gazillion more to drop.
Nice going Ron.
You could have field dressed that thing and put it on Ice and
dropped it off at my House on your way back to Louisiana.
Perfect size pig to roast.
