from the newspaper:

BREAKING NEWS: Interstate 80 closed by flooding; hundreds of central Pa. roads closed; no alternate routes east are open as of Thursday morning.

Thursday, September 8, 2011
Interstate 80 at Bloomsburg was closed Thursday morning due to flooding. PennDOT advises there are no alternate routes in the area that are open. More than 200 roads in central Pennsylvania were reported closed as of 10 a.m. Tuesday. The Susquehanna River at Harrisburg is projected by Friday to hit 28.5 feet, well above flood stage and the highest level since Tropical Storm Agnes' 32.6 feet in 1972.

People driving east from DuBois are advised to use caution, or delay or cancel their travel plans. PennDOT reminds motorists they can log on to 511pa.com or call 511 from any phone to check interstate traffic conditions before heading out.

I heard on the local news this evening that all of the rain that fallen in the NE these last few days would be enough to cover the drought-stricken state of Texas with 1/2 inch of water.
