For "the rest of the story" on PETA and other ARA (Animal Rights Activist) terrorists, check out http://www.gamefowlnews.com/ This is a non-profit organization that has become very effective at tracking down more background and hidden details on ARA terrorist activities and exposing them to public scrutiny. Expecially interesting is their work on exposing Frank Garcia....check them out if you're a real PETA fan (People Eating Tasty Animals).[:p][;)]

boxertrio,
What do these people eat? Where do they cross the line? I guess they missed those studies that have shown that when you pick a tomato from the vine the plant knows it...and perhaps...that is perhaps feels the pain of a lost child--eaten....
At what point do they stop eating? I bet they don't give a rat's ass care about that lower lifeform...
I don't think I've ever used this phrase before on this forum before... but in the gaming world I have...it is Dickheads...Or worse Want-To-Be-Dickheads...can't leave out the PETA Females.
Go ahead PETA keep on making those plants suffer the lost of a child.... you tomato baby killing suckers...

I've never commented on any of these things before, but that was just ridiculous. May something that stupid never reach my childrens eyes.
I find it interesting how people make choices about supporting certain values. I'm all for putting effort into things you personally find uplifting, working for charities, donating time to service groups etc. BUT - I do not understand how people can spend so much time and money on promoting something like PETA when there is still human suffering in the world.
I'm sorry pal, but worry about fish feelings after you have fed the last hungry child.
My 2 cents.

Just so there's no doubt about my caring treatment of fish, I carry a salmon counselor on every one of our trips. The counselor personally interviews each fish immediately when it is landed in the boat. So far, in all the years of fish landings and subsequent interviews, not one fish has objected, screamed in pain, or registered any complaint at all about their experience.....of course, they could suffer speech intimidation when they see that the fish counselor is carrying a club with their relative's remains all over it[:0] Word locally has it though, that the salmon have been conspiring to unionize to achieve duller hooks and weaker lines!
On the more serious side......
For those that believe that PETA and the other ARAs are just harmless, albiet misguided animal lovers, check out FBI reports on their terrorist activities against folks who enjoy outdoor sports, raise meat producing animals, wear animal related clothing, engage in animal related sports, etc. Check out Disney's authorization for them to use 'Nemo' cartoon characters in their campaign to indoctinate kids into believing their wacko sniveling about "fish feelings". Some of these folks are just animal loving people, but others are sick and don't mind physically or otherwise hurting those that don't align with their beliefs. Remember, to remain quiet/do nothing about their lies and criminal objectives is to affirm them and their scurrilous activities.

Kummok,
I know you are doing your best, and that is the only reason I enjoyed the salmon from you so much. Counseling the fish is so important, especially the halibut because they just aren't as emotionally and physically prepared for the pan treatment after a good fight to land them.
Keep up the good work.
Have you ever considered a catch and release program to have the smaller fish go out into the water to tell the bigger ones that your hook is the one attached to those extra services that you so painstakingly provide?
Happy Holidays,
Bill

Thank you for your emotional support....Contrary to PETA's spew, fisherman have feelings too[:p] You know my heart! And SO true on the C&R program, to which we faithfully subscribe. We DO release the little ones, after stapling a "FREE HERRING TO WEIGHT SEEKING KINGS AT THE WHITE BOAT" sign to their dorsals. We have learned, through our untiring fish counseling efforts, that obesity is of critical concern amongst the disciminating Feeder King ( they WANT it!)and we are doing all we can to relieve some of their "unacheived fat" anxiety!
The big ones, after CAREFUL removal of the hook with properly sterilized needle nose, are immediately escorted to our icy, air conditioned waiting hold, er, ah, I mean room.....in order to protect them from even bigger fish, seals, whales, otters, etc. that might seek to cause them bodily injury for totally selfish reasons, quite UNLIKE us fisherman. Oh, the burden we must carry to protect fish from themselves and the wild animal kingdom..........

Olds, the pink should make the women happy.
It's amazing to me than any group of idiots with a bit of cash can garner media attention, with the media portraying them as sane and/or just, trying to sway Joe Public's view. What happened to the media reflecting Joe Public's thoughts & pointing out kooks to be kooks? I'm not trying to force meat down their gullets, why should I be portrayed as the anti-Christ because I choose to eat what I like?
IMO, if you get your "news" from the mainstream media (CBS, ABC, NYT, etc.) then it is spelled p-r-o-p-a-g-a-n-d-a. There is no more "reporting", simply agenda reinforcement from a bunch of elitests that think they know better how we should live than we do.
Now I'll really open myself up to criticism: If they think this way about someone who has the audacity to catch & eat a fish, what do you think they think about those of us that own guns?[:0] (Even though they want their bodyguards to have guns to protect them.)
Fire away!

Ya think next time I check into a hotel & they ask "Smoking or Non?" they would mind?
Oldman,
I just ran into one of these "wana-be-dickheads" this week. We pulled a whole hog out of the pit earlier this week for a party, mostly other fireman and their friends/family(about 60 people). We had reserved a local park with covered eating area. We set up the spread, said grace and dug in. A lady and her son were walking their dog near by when they spotted the hog (now half gone) head and all. She wen't nuts, calling us all murderers and canibals. This is no joke, she was screaming, crying and cussing. Her son got her out of their after about 10min. We eventually had a laugh about it, but it was pretty traumatic on the kids. I live in southern Missouri, never thought that mental defect pread this far. I have competed in a few local comps for KCBS and never seen any kind of protest or anything, so this took us all by suprise.

Unbelieveable... not many things really get to me personally any longer. However, I believe I can say that I would have done more than laughed. My state is a right to shoot first state. Which means if I even felt just threatened by her I can put a cap in her ares... without recourse in either legal systems. Period.

First I'd like to say thank you to Kummok for bringing to light GFN (Gamefowl News). Our mission at GFN is to expose the ARA's for who and what they are, Domestic Terrorists as identified by none other than the FBI.
Our battle against those who want us to mow the back yard with our own teeth continues.
The GFN newsletter goes out for free and is truly an eye-opener. The stories, based on factual evidence, contained within the GFN newsletter will make you mad enough to stand up and be counted.
The ARA's, as we all know, want to control your life. GFN is not going to sit on the sidelines and let that happen. To subscribe to our free newsletter just drop us an email at

I know I've said these same words on the Forum about a year ago, but it's worth saying them again . . .
I couldn't agree with all of you more! In addition to smoking and eating meat, I am a biomedical scientist and I use animal models (rats and mice) to try and find treatments for heart disease and uterine fibroids. Ask anyone who is waiting depserately for a heart transplant or a women who can't have children and is in incredible pain from fibroids whether she would be willing to sacrifice a few hundred mice or rats to have children or save her parent from heart disease and the answer is obvious. Every scientist I know is very sensitive to the animals they use--I have 5 cats myself and take great pains to justify the use of each and every animal in the lab. They are treated with great respect and experience minimal, if any, discomfort.
I makes me crazy to hear the president of PETA say that "it would give her no solace to know that her father was saved from a heart attack if the treatment was practiced first on a dog" and to say that "a rat is a pig is a dog is a boy"! These are quotes, and you only have to aske ANYONE who has had a loved one saved by life-saving organ transplants, drug treatments, or other medical treatments if they would rather see their loved one die or a few animals die to know what any sensible person would say.
This is a very sensitive issue with me . . . I also teach vet students, and if there was ever a group that was tuned into animal rights, it's vets. Ask any of them if they are in favor of animal research and they will tell you exactly how important it is. Among the many ironies is that animal research actually leads to new treatments for animals, too!
Just my $.02 . . .
