Post by: SnellySmokesEm on September 09, 2011, 09:08:12 AM
I went camping two weeks back and my buddy brought along his turkey fryer so I brought 10lbs of chicken wings, some mies, some crystal sauce and some butter.
Wings gettin happy!

I made three diffent style of wings:
1. traditional hot wings (crystal sauce, butter, ketchup)

2. Sweet/hot wings (crystal sauce, butter, honey)

3. Mies breaded wings.  Some were nekkid, some were spun in the sauce

It is a Louisiana style hot sauce.  Most major Grocery store carry it.

Great stuff - probably preferred over Tabasco in Louisiana (and certainly at my house) - less vinegary taste.

crystal is good sauce, i never heard of ketchup in wing sauce buts that's what makes wings so great, everyone can do their own thing.  :)

i usually use franks xhot sauce, butter and add some cayenne powder to kick it up. if i'm looking for something different, i take the basic sauce and add parm, garlic and some Italian spices. sometimes use chipotle powder instead of cayenne. damm now i want wings but only have use of one hand, so its not going to happen.  :(

The ketchup is really just a binder.  It mellows the crystal a bit and helps it stick to the chicken.

I don't call that camping with Palm trees
Where I go camping theres no trees like that
I call that a trip down south

It's the condo on wheels that make it "not camping," not the trees.
