Title: First shot at GB sticks
Post by: SoCalBuilder on September 10, 2011, 05:45:19 PM
Well I was inspired by Muebe and took a shot at some sticks. I've been salivating since I got the OBS and starting hanging out here, looking at what everyone is turning out. So I ordered an LEM Jerky Gun (I didn't make the jump for the Canon) Using the spice kit that came with it and 4 lbs of 85/15 ground beef. Someone, maybe Muebe, advised that you wear rubber gloves for this little venture. A wise bit of advice indeed.

Squirted out and ready for 2 hours of smoke, mostly apple.

After 6 hours, starting at 155, rotating and spinning every hour and adding five degrees at a time till we hit 170.

These won't be around for long ;D

Partner that jerky is lookin mighty good, and it has great color too, if it tastes as good as it looks, you got a winner for sure...

They really look good.  I have never tried them without casings.  I'm going to have to try that.
