Some of you guy have seen pics of my boxer and was aware of some of his health problems. Cassius passed away at home in my arms last night. He was 7 1/2 years and lived a wonderful life. I know everyone thinks that they have the greatest dog and I felt the same way also. Cassius helped bring me and and wife together and he was there to see my two kids born. It is very sad day for me today....

So sorry to hear about your loss. For us with dogs, it is like losing a child.
Been there done that.......and now have 2 dogs.
My wife and I lasted 30 days when our dog passed to get new 2 puppies.
Lumpy
Very sorry to hear about Cassius. When we lost a pet we took comfort in the following, hope it helps:
RAINBOW BRIDGE
By the edge of a woods, at the foot of a hill,
Is a lush, green meadow where time stands still.
Where the friends of man and woman do run,
When their time on earth is over and done.
For here, between this world and the next,
Is a place where each beloved creature finds rest.
On this golden land, they wait and they play,
Till the Rainbow Bridge they cross over one day.
No more do they suffer, in pain or in sadness,
For here they are whole, their lives filled with gladness.
Their limbs are restored, their health renewed,
Their bodies have healed, with strength imbued.
They romp through the grass, without even a care,
Until one day they start, and sniff at the air.
All ears prick forward, eyes dart front and back,
Then all of a sudden, one breaks from the pack.
For just at that instant, their eyes have met;
Together again, both person and pet.
So they run to each other, these friends from long past,
The time of their parting is over at last.
The sadness they felt while they were apart,
Has turned into joy once more in each heart.
They embrace with a love that will last forever,
And then, side-by-side, they cross over... together.
So sorry for your loss. Us pet owners know how you feel. Words cannot take the hurt away however time will. You will always have him in your memories.
So sorry to hear this.
Matt,
I am very sorry for your loss. As Lumpy said, they are as much a part of the family as anyone else. My thoughts are with you and your family.

Sorry to hear that Matt.
I know how you feel.
Matt, I am so sorry for your loss. I know how much it hurts.
Saddens my Heart to hear of your loss.
Having had Dogs (friends) all my life it doesn't get easier when one of has to move on.
I always tell myself ......... no more.
Then one day something happens and the need to have another best friend opens up
your heart and a new buddy chooses you for Him to take care of.
Each one has filled a special place during a critical part of my Life.
This is a partial list of some quotes I have had on my puter since forever. Hope you enjoy them.

Matt so sorry for your loss...
I lost my dog a year ago. She was 15 years old and I had since she was 1 year old. I sometimes open the back door calling her name expecting her to come and forgetting that she is gone :'(
So sorry to here about Cassius Matt, I was hoping he would pull through.
I feel your pain brother, I lost my white boxer Balanka a year ago this coming Nov. She was my best friend and always by my side.
As you know my kids got together and got JD (my brindle boxer) for me on christmas and what a relief that was.
JD will be one in Oct. and I still call her Balanka every now and then.
Balanka and JD are sooooooo much alike some times I just sit and watch JD doing stuff and cant help but think about Balanka and smile remembering the good times Balanka and I had together.
Best wishes to ya my friend.
Thanks for all the kind words and support guys. Today is really tough but I know it will get better with time. I still have his 2 1/2 half brother to give me kisses and share more memories with. I just hope he takes it ok once he starts to realize his big brother is gone... :'(
Matt
I'm so sorry to hear this. Our prayers go out to you and your family for the loss. Many of us know what your going through :'(
I'm thinking it will take a week or so and Dempsey will start to notice his big brother aint there.
It took about that long for Tucker to notice when his big sister Balanka was gone.
Then along came JD and man what a time they have.
sorry to hear that man

These stood out the most for me... Thanks again everyone. It really means alot that so many of you guys care.... I have lost dogs before but I was too young and when my childhood german shepherd Tasha died I had been long out of my parents house. Cassius was my first dog, I knew it was gonna hurt, but man I think I underestimated the hurt a lot....
sorry to hear of your loss, of your pet, best friend and family member, it is hard to go through and remember you are not alone, there are members here that also have lost there beloved pets over the years,
Take as much time as you need and spend some time with your family and be there for them.
Matt...that's really sad, to loose a member of the family really hurts..so sorry...
Matt, I'm so sorry...... :'(
I'm really sorry for your pain! I know it too and it's damn real!
Very, very sorry to hear that, Matt.
Ahhh...sorry to hear that Matt. I have two cats but I love dogs as well and our pets are so much more than just family members. I wish there were more pet owner like you (and others on here) that see the value that our 4-legged friends bring to our lives everyday. I'm sure he knew how much he was cared for as is evident in those great pictures. Hope you get lots of lovin :-* from his brother !
So sorry for your loss. Keep Dempsey busy and hopefully his loss of his brother will be easier for him.
And CRG....thanks for the quotes....they are profoundly true.
Stay strong brother.
So sorry to hear that, I'm sure you have many good memories to reflect on
Have I ever mentioned how much I Looooove Boxers?

A Boston Terrier is like a mini Boxer on speed. ;D
That little guy is the most aggressive dog of the pack, you should see Tucker playing with the boxers,,,,,,he takes them both on.
