Title: freezing cheese in a pork roll?
Post by: grnhs on September 24, 2011, 04:31:15 PM
Anybody have any experience freezing a pork roll with cheese as one of the fillers?
I know cheese in general doesn't do well in the freeser, but wondered if cooking changed things.
Thanks in advance
Dave

No problem with my cordon bleu.

Wife freezes mac and cheese all the time, and she uses 4 or 5 different kinds of cheese when she make it...no problems...

Cooked is fine frozen.  Fresh cheese does crumble after being frozen, but even then, if you're going to put in/on a casserole or other item to be cooked...still works fine.  Just not good eating witout cooking.

We always have shredded cheese in the freezer and use it with no problems. So much cheaper to buy the 5 pound bags at Sams then the small ones at the grocery store.
