I've read a bit about their use and they sound like a good idea. Anyone know of a source for purchasing them. I don't know of any metal shops that have aluminum stock and the willingness to slice them up for me.
Thanks all

Actually I shouldn't have even posted this. A quick google search and I found several options on where to purchase. I purchased 3 cnc machined lightweight pucks from this site for around $30 including 2 day shipping.

He's got a post somewhere here in the forum that includes pictures. If I could figure out how to post a pic I would. Here's a link to his post though.

Just don't get them wet... Or you are back to step 1. :o
Or use where steam may come in contact with the gloved hand(s).
In my 55 years, 20 around heavy weapons and machinery in the Army, I have beat the hell out of my hands, including a partial amputation of a thumb. Thanks for the tips guys, but worry not. I will not even make to to a 2nd time forgetting the gloves or tongs.
