Title: road kill
Post by: pensrock on October 02, 2011, 07:54:08 AM
such a shame. this buck was hit by a car only three miles from my house. that is an off duty state trooper with the deer.
i was told it had 17 scorable points. did not hear a width measurement but i will try to find out.

When I was in Alaska I noticed they had signs letting people know how may Moose were killed by vehicles for the year.  Turns out there are hundreds each year :'(

But they have a waiting list of people that they start calling after each kill and if they reach you then you have a certain amount of time to get there and get you a Moose!!  Found out cause a friend of mine is on the list.  Don't suppose PA has such a policy?!

Most of the time if you call and report a road kill they will let you keep it if you want it, they have about 50,000 road kills a year here and they are kept pretty busy trying to get rid of the road kills...
