Well since the summer is over, we are back from Florida and the BBQ judging season is over I thought it was tie to see if there was any interest in another get together around Christmas time? If there is were would we like to met? There are a lot of us from the LML here on the board and we had a nice get together last year, so I figure lets do it again.
Ross
Arent you supposed to go to Florida during the winter??? ;D
I think I would be down for a get together this year. Lets see what everyone else has to say about it.
I recently posted a thread about some new (ish) smoke house in the area. Did you see that one Ross?
I'm in. We have some new local members that would be great to meet. We would even let any of them Islander's join in if they were able to swim across the puddle.

We were in Florida last month, we had a great time. Closed down Jimmy Buffets in Orlando a few nights along with BB Kings. We had a great time in the keysgoing to places like Alabama Jacks, Sloppy Joes, Captain Jacks and a whole lot of other places. We tried to do the Duval Crawl twice and never seemed to be able to make it in one day. Story and pictures to follow soon.
We are planning to go to Peurto Vallarta for Christmas thoughnsince we have ungrateful childern who have not given us grand childern, so until we have grand babies Christmas has been cancelled for the kids.
What id the BBQ place? Let check it out.
Ross
Christmas is canceled? Man, that's pretty harsh. Ahhh, naw, I'm just kidding. LOL.
Here's the link i posted.

I'm in. A Pub? Restaurant? If I had a bigger place I'd say here but it's small! Pot luck somewhere? Just let me know when and where! :)
Hey Dan either place looks good. the one in Burnaby looks to have a greater selection on the menu, do either serve adult beverages? Let see who else is in on this one. I was thinking the first week in December before things get to crazy and before we leave for the sun again ::)
Ross
I'm 97.5% sure that the burnaby place serves booze. Looks like I'll have to go back there for lunch to investigate. 8) The poco place is still waiting for a license last I heard.
It would be well worth the swim across the puddle to meet you all in the LML.
It would be great if you could make it Fisher.
Man I wish my work had of waited until December to send me out there. Have fun guys!!
Lets try a get a date nailed down on this one. Then we can decide were we want to go. Right now how does November 26 or December 10 sound to everyone. They are both Saturdays. We work until 4 on Saturday but that should not be a problem. Maybe we can even entice Brian to come out and play or someone else from Bradley.

Ross I am good anytime. We have no plans and we can go at a moments notice. There will be a company dinner at some point but I am not going to go this year. I have a co-worker who has been a great big a-hole and I won't waist my time subjecting myself to his s#$t.
Good news. I do believe that Wilburs' has their licence now but I'm open for either location. So far my schedule is clear for both dates but of course that could always change due to work n stuff.
I also heard there is a place in New West that does smoked foods. I don't know much about it, but it sounds like you have to pre-order because the cook/chef/owner (or whatever he is) prepares everything from home and brings it into the restaurant.
Ssso that would be dine-in on take-out. ;D ;D
Ok well to add to the list of choices, I just heard of this place last night. Reviews look pretty good too. Plus it's Carolina style BBQ.

Not to be a "STICK in the mud" "Dan" ;D but you would have to pay me to go downtown. With 12 to 14 hours a day behind the wheel, the last thing I wanna do is drive into VCR.
Let's scratch that one off the list!
Still, it's nice to see more and more bbq joints open up in the area.
Thanks for that one Dan, the next time we go down town we will be checking it out. Looks like good food and a good selection of beer also. My two favorite food groups.
