Title: It was Cheap, It was Fun, and They won't Forget it
Post by: Tenpoint5 on October 09, 2011, 12:01:03 PM
What do you do on a warm fall day When the leaves are all blowing off the trees into the neighbors back yard? You get some friends and you rake them all into a nice big pile then you have some fun!! That's what you do!! We killed about 2 1/2 hours the night before and then we spent another 3 hours the next morning playing in the leaves.  I took a few pictures and thought I would share. Brings back memories of when times were simpler and we didn't have all this technology crap to keep us entertained!!

The Pile

The kids

The Toss!!

A couple Landings

Then they started doing flips and I took about 30 pictures trying to catch them in the air never happened but I did get one on a video. Only problem is I forgot to turn the phone on its side to take the video. Tilt your head to the left!! ;D ;D

We had a GOOD TIME!! When we finished up we had some of them orange pumpkin bags with faces on them so we filled all of them up and put them on a couple different neighbors' front stoop.

Don't you remember when ...........

Hmmm.. my neck is fine...
But I am amazed at how steep that hill is, and how the kids stick to the leaves like velcro.   ;D

I did that for my kids and their neighbourhood friends way back when and they still talk about it! Good memories!

Also burned the leaves afterwards (we were in the countryside back then) and roasted potatoes in aluminum foil. Nothing beats potatoes roasted in aluminum foil and then some salt and pepper and butter and, and, I'm getting hungry  ;D

I'm thinking she wasn't just too concerned if there was a nice big soft pile of leaves to land on either!!

Levitating kids - you need to go on the road with that trick!   Just glad OSHA wasn't around!  Was expecting to see more corn leaves!  Is that a neighbor growing grapes in their back yard in photos 9, 10, 14, 15?

I think she tried it Mike but has never really done anything with them. The next neighbor past her also has a huge vine back by the alley but it has gone wild and doesn't produce hardly anything.
