Got around to posting some pics from a day at the fair. For those who may not know the Texas State Fair has contests each year for the latest and greatest deep fried food. In the past some of the have been deep fried butter, peaches & cream, beer (failed), and deep fried cookie dough, Amy's favorite (a bit like biting into a like electric eel). Some of the noteworthy entries this year were deep fried pineapple upside down cake (major yum) and bubblegum.

My favorite this year was the fried buffalo chicken thing. Chicken breast in buffalo wing sauce, rolled in pancake batter then jalapeno crumbs and deep fried. Very tasty. Never found the fried bubble gum.

Wow, I'd have to get my gall bladder put back in in order to handle all that fried food.
The last time I made the Texas State Fair - Big Tex was in short pants!
Some of that stuff looks tasty but I'll wager the incidence of coronary problems in Texas rivals that of Scotland. :o
They took my idea. i did deep fried battered bacon 2 years ago.
Can't build no cabin with country fried bacon - or could you?
