Title: Chicken Parts
Post by: Bearcub6 on October 31, 2011, 07:31:01 AM
I smoked up some chicken legs and thighs.  Marinated overnight in some oil and seasoning, then into the OBS for 2 Hrs of apple smoke and then 2 more hours in the OBS with some BBQ Sweet Baby Rays sauce.  It was pretty windy and tough to keep the OBS up to temp...but they came out very juicy - just a trip to the grill to crisp the skin and another mopping of sauce.   They tasted great - the kids and grandkids sure enjoyed them...not many leftovers for today.

I notice what I assume is a brick wrapped in foil on the top shelf on one of the pictures. Is it better to put it on the top shelf rather than the bottom?

My guess would definitely be on the bottom. Due to the ole heat rises theory. :)
