I see all the posts for flaming pistachios and would like to give them a try but without all the heat. I want the rest of the family to enjoy them too.
Any suggestions for something a little tamer - at least to start.
As is, the Blazin Pistacho's aren't over the top hot at all. My MotherInLaw eats them, and she thinks Bell Peppers and some blends of ketchup are hot!
The Green Tabasco sauce is very mild, and you can sub pickled banana pepper juice for the pickled Jalapeno juice for a mild vinegar kick. (or just use pickle juice to begin with, and work up from there)
Give it a shot! They are addicting..

Yup... Scott (Seemore) made a big batch for TP5's smokeout, and they VANISHED quick.
(Heck, I think he
started this whole craze...)
If you're really worried...
It's holiday season... Try some with cinnamon sugar! What the heck!

If my wife can eat these made like Seemore started youll be good, she thinks black pepper is hot
You know what -- my favourite new (to me) sauce is Smoked Chipotle Tabasco, maybe I will just put some of that on the nuts with some salt. Who knows maybe it will be great.
I did learn one thing recently -- it doesn't hurt to experiment. I did my first yard bird in a brine (never brined anything before) and I thought I put waaaay too much onion flakes in the brine because I didn't measure it and the onion smell was overpowering. But after the bird was done I couldn't taste the onion at all and it turned out great.

OK maybe I need to go back and find the Seemore recipe and give it a try, as long as I have the ingredients. Otherwise it is adapt and hope for the best.
JZ, here is Seemore's original recipe

Thanks KyNola
Going to give it try today.
Well the nuts are done as per the recipe except that I used 6 cups of nuts (mixed almonds and pistachios) since there seemed to be enough sauce to cover them all. They both turned out very good - not hot at all, which really surprised me given the spices that went into it. The wife likes them too.
